Code-Switching in Speech of Tundra Yukaghir: Bi- and Multilingual Repetition

The linguistic repertoire of the tundra Yukaghir-Polylinguals in Lower Kolyma, Yakutia, with a population approximately 400 and fewer than 50 speakers, is represented by Yukaghir, Chukchi, Even, Yakut, Russian languages. Their speech can be characterized as mixed, including spontaneous code-switching within between utterances. Our goal to provide first description one common cases — repetition. It has been established that pronouns, nouns, verbs, well introductory words, propositional-nominal constructions, utterances, their parts duplicated. Noun duplicates both standard pidginized forms are most common. Overall, Yukaghir-Russian. Cases trilingual duplication also found. There no transitions Chukchi Even languages during duplication. Intra- Interphrase realizations dual directionality from language another / or vice versa noted. As result discourse analysis, social-pragmatic functions performed have identified.
